We are proud to announce our new title as a Business Champion for the Construction Leadership Council’s (CLC) CO2nstruct Zero, net zero carbon industry change programme. Our commitment to sustainability and energy-efficient solutions perfectly aligns with the goals of the CO2nstruct Zero program, underpinned by nine priorities and a set of 31 metrics, measuring the sector’s progress towards achieving net zero on a public, quarterly basis.
As a Business Champion, SuperFOIL will work closely with the CLC to support sustainable initiatives, reduce carbon footprint, tackle challenges, and seize opportunities in line with the CO2nstruct Zero program – carbon monitoring and assessment Priority Performance Framework.’
SuperFOIL’s adherence to the CO2nstruct Zero priorities has been evident in the following avenues;
- “Maximising the use of Modern Methods of Construction and improving onsite logistics to reduce waste and transportation to sites”
- “Collaborating with the government to deliver retrofitting and enhance energy efficiency in existing housing stock”
- “Enhancing the energy performance of new and existing buildings through higher operational energy efficiency standards and improved building energy performance monitoring”
- “Supporting the development of innovative low-carbon materials, and advancing low-carbon solutions for manufacturing production processes and distribution”
Over the years we have developed a range of multifoil products that improve thermal comfort, reduce heating bills, and create more sustainable homes. By manufacturing and supplying these high-performance, award-winning insulation materials, including those used in Government-funded ECO Schemes, SuperFOIL plays a crucial role in supplying high performance insulation solutions, making a significant impact in the thermal insulation industry.
One of our recent achievements was to establish a strict Zero-waste to landfill initiative. On top of that, with approximately 40% of the materials used in our flagship products being recycled, we have taken significant steps to contribute to a greener future. Over the past year, we have used over 80 million recycled plastic bottles in our products. Remarkably, a single roll of SuperFOIL SF40 contains recycled content equivalent to over 500 plastic bottles!
We are proud to say that our products’ exceptional space-saving features drew even more attention during the ‘Business Champion’ evaluation. A single truckload of SuperFOIL insulation can insulate the same number of homes as six truckloads of regular PIR insulation, saving 3,765 kg of CO2 over a 500-mile round trip. In addition to maximising the amount of insulation material per pallet through innovative packaging options, we are now shipping five times more insulation per truck than traditional insulation materials, significantly lowering our transportation related emissions.
We are looking forward to working alongside the CLC and with a unique strategy towards Net Zero, our collective efforts will drive carbon reduction throughout the construction industry, while enhancing the efficiency of Britain’s housing stock innovatively and affordably.
