Convection heat transfer takes place through the movement of liquids or gases. Convection is one of the reasons why your house cools down quickly when its windy – heat is blown away from your house more rapidly in a wind. One way to help insulate against convection heat loss is to ensure you house is well sealed. This can be done by ensuring all windows, doors etc have a good seal on them. Using breather membranes & VCL layers will also provide a significant improvement to how well sealed a house is another option is using a multi foil insulation such as SuperFOIL which acts as both an insulation layer and air tightness barrier in one.
