Convection Heat – How does it Work?

Convection heat transferConvection heat transfer takes place through the movement of liquids or gases. Convection is one of the reasons why your house cools down quickly when its windy – heat is blown away from your house more rapidly in a wind.  One way to help insulate against convection heat loss is to ensure you house is well sealed. This can be done by ensuring all windows, doors etc have a good seal on them. Using breather membranes & VCL layers will also provide a significant improvement to how well sealed a house is another option is using a multi foil insulation such as SuperFOIL which acts as both an insulation layer and air tightness barrier in one.
