Project Overview
Nick, an experienced loft converter in Norwich, needed a cost-effective solution for insulating his client’s loft conversion. Nick was subject to current building regulations which require a u-value of 0.18 in the roof.
The Problem
Nick was looking for an alternative issue to using a traditional form board, which would require at least 150mm to meet the required U-value. He was also looking for something that was easier, cleaner and simpler to install.
The search began…
LET’S TALK ABOUT YOUR PROJECTThe Solution
Nick found SuperFOIL and got in touch with our technical advisors. He was given a solution of using SuperFOIL SF40 combined with a 47.5mm insulated plasterboard which met the required U-value of 0.18.
Our technical team dealt with the building inspector, providing all U-value calculations and condensation risk analysis. As well as this, the team were able to support Nick in finding a competitive price from his local supplier.
Nick said:
“the SF40 was installed in no time at all” he continued “it was SO much faster and easier than foam board. The plasterboard is already up, and we can get on with the rest of the job!”
By contacting SuperFOIL, Nick was confident he had the correct information and confidence of knowing he could achieve his goal and reduce his overall material cost for his customer.
