SOLID FLOOR

Despite its sleek appearance, our underfloor insulation solution, SuperFOIL SFUF delivers the highest thermal performance and vapour protection that SuperFOIL is known for, making it the perfect solution for installations where floor depth and performance are a priority.

Application

SuperFOIL SFUF is 6mm thick, 1.5m wide and 8m long, which makes it the sleekest solution possible for your floors. SFUF is slightly different from our other ranges. Due to the materials used, it is typically installed with the use of no air gaps and has minimal compression, making it ideal for floors with limited depth.

With a built-in vapour resistance of 1200MNs/g you can also choose from a range of multifoil solutions that suit the best for your build-up without compromising performance.

SuperFOIL’s flexibility extends to its application; you can use it on its own, in single/duet configurations, or in combination with traditional insulation types like mineral wool or PIR boards.

Solid Floor – Screeded

When screeding, begin at the wall edge with a minimum of a 100mm overlap up the wall. Roll out the SuperFOIL SFUF onto a clean, dry, and smooth surface, ensuring the clear polythene layer faces upward into the room.

Butt joint the edges together and seal with a non-foil jointing tape. Afterward, proceed to install your underfloor heating (if being fitted) and screed over, following the manufacturer’s recommendations.

Solid Floor – Floating

Roll out SuperFOIL SFUF onto a clean, dry and smooth surface with the clear polythene layer facing upwards into the room. Butt joint edges together and then seal with SuperFOIL Jointing tape.

Laminate flooring finish: If you are using laminate flooring, we recommend placing a solid layer on top of the SFUF ( such as plywood layer). Proceed to install your laminate flooring as per manufacturers recommendations.

Carpet finish: Proceed to lay your underlay directly on top of the SFUF, and finish the installation by laying carpet as per recommendation.
