This Month’s Solutions will focus on Flat Roof Insulation to achieve a u-value of 0.18
Our second solution in this series is a cold Flat roof insulation build up. This solution goes all below joist starting with a single layer of SuperFOIL SF40 followed by a counter batten then a 35mm insulated plasterboard. This solution will bring your roof up to current retrofit building regulation requires of 0.18U in just under 100mm of build up making this an ideal solution for a project where adding height to the external of the roof just isn’t a possible. Remember if your using a single ply membrane no ventilation should be required but if its a non breathable external finish such as GRP then adding some ventilation are the firings will help to minimise the risk of condensation.
