The design required the use of non-combustible materials. Of the available insulation options, SuperFOIL SFNC was the obvious choice, over traditional insulation or rigid foam board. SFNC met the high thermal performance required while keeping the build-up thickness to a minimum. SuperFOIL SFNC is a high tech Euro Class A1 Non Combustible multifoil insulation and a unique Non-Combustible multifoil.
The improved air tightness provided by SuperFOIL Superior Tape with SFNC’s thermal performance and reflective foil surfaces, combine to create the high performance insulation system needed for this project. SuperFOIL Superior Tape is a high performance fully reinforced foil tape recommended for sealing all seams, joints and edges of SuperFOIL multifoil insulation.
Tottenham Court Road is one of London’s busiest stations, offering an interchange between the Northern, Central and Elizabeth line services with more than 200,000 passengers passing through the station every day.
