Window reveals often pose the challenge of how to deal with significant thermal bridging. The more windows in the design, the more important minimising that thermal bridging becomes. A recent luxury apartment project in London had just such a problem and the Architect came to SuperFOIL looking for a solution.
SuperFOIL’s free technical helpline helps architects find solutions to this and many other challenges created by today’s demanding thermal performance requirements. For this particular project the answer was SFUF. SuperFOIL SFUF is a high performance multi-layer foil insulation that is a mere 6mm thick. With a core r-value of 0.80 WmK2, SFUF has the same thermal performance as approximately 50mm of white polystyrene.
Lightweight, flexible, and easy to cut, SFUF offers an ideal solution to thermal bridging with superior thermal performance at a fraction of the thickness of traditional solutions.
